Heritage Golf Group has announced the acquisition of The Palisades Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Timberlake Golf Club, LLC. This move signifies Heritage’s debut in the Charlotte market and extends the company’s reach in the Carolinas beyond its established clusters of clubs in Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, and Hilton Head Island.
“We are thrilled to welcome The Palisades Country Club to the Heritage Golf Group family and to establish our presence in the Charlotte market,” stated Mark Gore, executive vice president of operations for Heritage Golf Group. “The Palisades is a distinguished club, boasting an exceptional golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, outstanding family-oriented amenities, and a vibrant community spirit that makes it a cornerstone of life in the Palisades. We are honored to assume stewardship of this club and are eager to introduce our philosophy of reinvestment and member-centric service to the Charlotte area. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the team and membership to build upon the existing strengths that make The Palisades such a valued part of the community.”
Situated within the expansive 1,600-acre master-planned Palisades community just outside Charlotte, North Carolina, The Palisades Country Club’s golf course is artfully integrated with the natural landscape alongside Lake Wylie. The course is designed to cater to golfers of all proficiency levels and is complemented by extensive practice facilities and a specialized short game area.
Beyond golf, members can enjoy a range of sports and wellness facilities at the Club’s Signature Sports Complex. This facility features courts for tennis and pickleball, a fitness center, and a resort-style aquatic complex complete with a zero-entry pool, lap lanes, water slides, and family-friendly water attractions.
Preliminary capital improvement plans are currently under review, with member and team feedback being a crucial factor in guiding future enhancements to ensure they align with the Club’s specific priorities. Initial investments are slated to focus on elevating the golf course and enhancing the amenities that contribute to the overall member experience.
This acquisition represents Heritage’s 48th property in just six years under its current ownership, underscoring the company’s consistent growth and expansion into new markets.
