Walt Disney Golf has introduced a new statue of Grumpy, the iconic character from Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” This landmark statue now greets visitors at the beginning of the recently revamped four holes on Disney’s Magnolia golf course, a challenging stretch now affectionately dubbed “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.”
Positioned near the tee box of the 14th hole, the grumpy yet beloved dwarf stands guard over holes 14, 15, 16, and 17. This formidable sequence of finishing holes is designed to offer a fun yet demanding test, even for seasoned golfers.
Adding a touch of thoughtful detail, Grumpy’s golf bag features a seven-iron, a nod to all seven dwarfs, and a replica golf ball bearing the dimple pattern from 1937, the year the classic film premiered.
Standing approximately six feet tall, the Grumpy statue is a masterpiece of Carrara marble, brought to life by Walt Disney Imagineering with the aid of an AI-powered stone-carving robot. It captures Grumpy in his signature scowl, perched atop a rock, and bears his memorable line from the movie: “Mark my words, thereโs trouble a-brewinโ!” This distinctive spot is poised to become a favored photo opportunity for golfers tackling the back nine.
Complementing the new addition, “Grumpy’s Gauntlet” merchandise, including branded apparel and various golf accessories and collectibles, is now available at the Magnolia pro shop.
The Grumpy statue and associated merchandise are the latest enhancements to the course, which boasts a storied history with many legendary professional golfers having graced its fairways. These new features further integrate the whimsical Disney storytelling that is a hallmark of the entire golf experience.
Walt Disney World Golf, managed by Arnold Palmer Golf Management since 2011, was recognized by the National Golf Course Owners Association as the 2026 Resort Course of the Year, with Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course being its premier offering.
Nearby, Disney’s Palm Golf Course provides a slightly shorter, yet equally strategic, golfing experience.
For a more leisurely pace and scenic surroundings, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course presents a layout that has also hosted significant events. It is currently undergoing renovations, with an anticipated reopening later this year. The pro shop remains operational daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When time is limited or you’re playing with family, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is an excellent choice. This 9-hole, walking-only course is perfect for shorter games and skill development. As part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, it offers a chance to observe local wildlife during your round.
Adding a playful twist, Oak Trail hosts FootGolf several afternoons a week. This hybrid sport combines soccer and golf, where players kick a soccer ball into oversized holes. It’s a casual, fast-paced, and surprisingly competitive activity, especially for groups.
Golfers can also test their skills at “The Greatest Green Ever Played,” an 18-hole putting course launched in 2024 and open to all guests. This putting paradise pays tribute to the legendary 1913 U.S. Open victory of amateur Francis Ouimet, as depicted in the Walt Disney Pictures film “The Greatest Game Ever Played” (2005).
While golf might not be the first activity that comes to mind in a destination built on imagination, it becomes evident to those who play here that magic can indeed be found on what has become known as “The Happiest Place on Turf!”
