American sixth seed Taylor Fritz delivered a commanding performance on Sunday at the Miami Open, securing his place in the last 16. He decisively defeated fellow American Reilly Opelka with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in their third-round match. Ranked world No. 7, Fritz faced minimal challenge throughout the encounter.

Opelka struggled notably with his serve, managing to win only 62 percent of points on his own delivery. In stark contrast, Fritz showcased exceptional serving, claiming 83 percent of points on his serve. Furthermore, Opelka's difficulty in converting opportunities was evident as he managed to convert a mere 13 percent of his break points. Fritz will now proceed to face Czech twenty-first seed Jiri Lehecka in the upcoming round.
