The 2026 OFX Irish Legends tournament, officially unveiled earlier this spring at the prestigious Carton House Fairmont in County Kildare, Ireland, is scheduled to take place from July 9-12 on the challenging Montgomerie Course. This event is a key fixture in the Staysure Legends Tour, a global series that showcases over 50 of golf’s most celebrated figures, including renowned players like Colin Montgomerie, Paul McGinley, Ian Woosnam, and Michael Campbell.

Nestled west of Dublin, Carton House boasts an expansive 1,100-acre parkland resort featuring two distinct golf courses. One was designed by Mark Oโ€™Meara, while the other, by Montgomerie, is recognized for its demanding layout, characterized by deep pot bunkers and narrow fairways.

“The course demands precise iron play, allowing players to truly showcase their skills. It’s a formidable challenge, and I’m confident it will produce a worthy champion,” commented Paul McGinley. “Carton House is an absolutely magnificent venue, steeped in history. Many of Ireland’s finest golfers have honed their skills here through Golf Ireland programs. It feels like a full-circle moment to return and compete on this ground.”

Admission to the event is free; however, registration is required to secure tickets via the Staysure Legends Tour website.

Previous champions of the OFX Irish Legends include James Kingston, Adilson da Silva, and Peter Baker. Paul McGinley will be striving to become the first Irish player to win the tournament on home soil.

As part of the Staysure Legends Tour, the tournament will once again offer exclusive “Playing Experiences.” These unique opportunities allow amateur golfers the chance to play alongside some of the game’s most legendary figures, providing an intimate viewing experience and a memorable chance for everyday golfers to compete with golf icons.

“We witnessed the remarkable success of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open hosted here in 2024 and 2025, which significantly elevated our profile on the global stage,” stated Tim Mullen, managing partner of Belmullet Hospitality Group, the owners of Carton House. “We anticipate the Legends event will have a similar, positive impact for us.”
