German Alexander Zverev, currently ranked World No. 2, is set to compete at the ATP 500 tournament in Hamburg, Germany. He has been granted a wild card entry into the event.
Zverev will enter the Hamburg tournament as the top seed. This comes after Italy`s Jannik Sinner, who was initially expected to be the first seed, withdrew from the competition.
Notably, several other prominent players have also withdrawn from the Hamburg event, including Dane Holger Rune, Italian Lorenzo Musetti, and American Tommy Paul.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on clay courts from May 18 to 24. The reigning champion is Frenchman Arthur Fils. Last year, Fils defeated Zverev in the final match with a score of 6/3, 3/6, 7/6(1).
