Aston Villa are reportedly aiming to intercept Bournemouth`s potential transfer bid for Rennes captain, Adrien Truffert.
Villa is showing interest in the 23-year-old left-back and might make a move for him, provided they can offload a player soon.

Bournemouth, known as the Cherries, are reportedly close to finalizing a £20 million agreement for the French international defender.
They view him as a potential successor to Milos Kerkez, who is widely expected to move to Premier League winners Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

This season, Truffert appeared in 33 Ligue 1 matches for Rennes, contributing two goals and two assists as the team finished 12th in the league.
However, securing a regular spot in France`s highly competitive national squad has proven challenging for the 23-year-old.
He has only made one appearance for the French national team (`Les Bleus`) since his initial call-up for two UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Adding complexity to the situation, it`s known that Bournemouth had also shown interest in Liverpool`s left-back, Andy Robertson.
However, the West Midlands club (Aston Villa) may face challenges in signing the 32-year-old Scot, particularly considering new manager Arne Slot`s position on potential departures.
It is understood that Villa`s manager, Unai Emery, is looking for a new left-back, as current options Lucas Digne and Ian Maatsen have reportedly not fully convinced the Spanish coach.
Separately, Bournemouth is also exploring options for a goalkeeper and has been linked with Spanish shot-stopper Joan Garcia, previously mentioned in connection with Arsenal.
The 24-year-old Garcia is reportedly on the verge of signing for Barcelona from Espanyol, although a subsequent loan move to the Premier League for a season is also a possibility.
