Arman Tsarukyan, a prominent contender in the UFC lightweight division and former title challenger, has voiced his belief that only two fighters currently possess the ability to pose a significant threat to the reigning champion, Islam Makhachev: himself and Ilia Topuria.
Tsarukyan elaborated on his view, stating, “That`s a fair assessment. Topuria is moving up in weight, and he holds a championship title. I anticipate that would be a very engaging contest. Topuria has the capability to create complications for him. Frankly, at this moment, within this weight class, I honestly feel that only Topuria and I are capable of providing Islam with a genuinely competitive fight. Fighters like Gaethje, in contrast, represent relatively easy victories for Islam, especially given that he has already secured a win over Oliveira.”
