UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan offered his perspective on why the promotion`s lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, may not be eager to face the current featherweight king, Ilia Topuria.
According to Tsarukyan, as shared by the Red Corner MMA account on social network X, Makhachev is hesitant to fight Topuria because a victory might be downplayed, with people saying, “You beat a welterweight again.” In contrast, Tsarukyan believes that a fight against him (Tsarukyan), and a potential victory, would serve as a more meaningful conclusion to Makhachev`s current goals within the lightweight division.
