Tottenham Hotspur is anticipated to part ways with Chief Football Officer Scott Munn after the club announced the hiring of former Arsenal executive Vinai Venkatesham.

Munn, an Australian national aged 51, has been serving as Spurs` chief football officer, effectively the number two to chairman Daniel Levy, since September 2023.

Munn`s role officially commenced shortly after Ange Postecoglou, also Australian, took over as head coach.

However, it is now believed that Munn is slated to leave the club after Tottenham successfully recruited Venkatesham, previously the CEO of their North London rivals Arsenal, to become their new chief executive starting this summer.

Venkatesham, 44, will be in charge of all operations both on and off the field. Observers quickly noted that this job description overlaps significantly with Munn`s current responsibilities.

Munn, formerly an executive with City Football Group, has conducted several reviews across various departments at Spurs during his tenure.

These reviews led to departures in several areas, including scouting and medical departments.

Despite changes in the medical department, which included the departure of long-serving head of medicine Geoff Scott last year, Spurs have experienced one of their most injury-plagued seasons in recent memory.

The number of injured players regularly exceeded ten during the winter months.

Notably, captain Son Heung-min and defender Radu Dragusin were absent from Thursday`s crucial Europa League quarter-final victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Venkatesham spent 14 years at Arsenal, including four as CEO, before stepping down last summer.

Upon his appointment last week, he commented: "I’m excited to be joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer. After taking some time to recharge and evaluate my options, I believe this is an exceptional opportunity to work with Daniel [Levy], the Board and all of the staff, to take the Club forward.”
