Danny Welbeck has shared that Sir Alex Ferguson continues to call him after his matches.
Welbeck, now 34 and playing for Brighton, progressed through Manchester United`s youth system under the guidance of the iconic manager.

Welbeck won a Premier League title with Manchester United. He was transferred to Arsenal a year after Ferguson retired in 2013.
Leading up to this weekend`s FA Cup quarter-finals, Welbeck mentioned that Ferguson, 83, reached out to him following his goal against Newcastle in the previous round.
Speaking to the BBC, Welbeck recounted, “Sir Alex Ferguson actually phoned me after the Newcastle goal.”
“He spoke about the goal and my overall performance.”
“It`s great to maintain that connection. He`s a manager who consistently looks out for his players, always wants the best for them, and remains in contact even now.”
Welbeck`s excellent extra-time goal against Newcastle has set up a quarter-final match between Brighton and Nottingham Forest this Saturday.
This season has been productive for the former England international on the South Coast, with seven Premier League goals from 17 starts.
His goal against Newcastle even prompted Wayne Rooney, his former Manchester United teammate, to make a strong statement.

Rooney, Manchester United`s all-time top scorer, aged 39, commented, “Danny is fantastic to play alongside.”
“To be completely honest, I would still like to see him playing here, for Manchester United.”
“He has scored goals throughout his career. While injuries were an issue earlier on, he seems to have overcome them and is having a remarkable season.”
Welbeck also recently revealed his participation in a WhatsApp group with former Manchester United players.
He told Sky Sports, “Everyone contributes. It`s full of banter, discussions about football, and plenty of jokes.”
When asked about the group admin, Welbeck responded, “I believe it might be Rio Ferdinand.”
“He loves to talk, doesn`t he? You know what he`s like, always chatting away.”
“He enjoys it. He`s built a career around talking now, so… we also give him a lot of stick.”
