Since his arrival in 2021, the Italian coach led a new era for the club, though his team suffered defeat in Saturday`s Champions League final.

The former striker is now anticipated to take on a lucrative managerial position in Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal, following a mutual agreement with Inter executives to conclude his tenure.

A statement from the club read: “The paths of the Club and Simone Inzaghi are separating. This decision was reached by mutual agreement after a meeting held a few minutes ago.”

It continued: “Inzaghi`s tenure at Inter will be remembered by fans, players, management, and staff for its immense passion, professionalism, and dedication.”

Inter President Giuseppe Marotta commented: “On behalf of our shareholder Oaktree and the entire club, I want to thank Simone Inzaghi for his work, the passion he displayed, and the sincerity shown in today`s discussion, which led to the shared decision to part ways.”

Marotta also stated: “It is only after fighting together daily for success that we can have such a frank dialogue as the one that took place today.”

In his own statement, Inzaghi wrote: “My time at this club has come to an end after four years, during which I gave my utmost.”

He added: “I express my gratitude to the shareholders for their consistent trust, and to the president and his team for their daily support and open communication.”

Inzaghi continued: “On a challenging day like this, I feel it is important to reiterate this sense of appreciation, also for the meeting that just concluded. We were candid and jointly decided to conclude this wonderful journey.”

He concluded: “Finally, I want to address the millions of Nerazzurri fans who supported me, shared tears and suffered during tough moments, and celebrated with joy during the six triumphs we shared. I will never forget you. Forza Inter!”

Inzaghi is now anticipated to take over as manager of Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.

The respected coach will manage players including former Premier League stars like Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Although Al Hilal finished short of the Saudi Pro League title this season, they aim to impress in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where they are set to face Real Madrid in their opening match later this month.
