Saturday brought another series of shocks to the Miami Open men’s draw, as prominent seeds Ben Shelton (No.8) and Andrey Rublev (No.15) both exited the tournament. This marked the second consecutive day of significant upsets, with six additional seeded players eliminated at Hard Rock Stadium, bringing the total to twelve over two days.
Eighth seed Shelton was defeated by an unseeded Alexander Shevchenko in a closely contested three-set match, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3. Fifteenth seed Rublev also fell, suffering a comprehensive loss to Alejandro Tabilo with a score of 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.
