Russian tennis player Roman Safiullin shared his analysis of his first-round match at the Rome Masters. Safiullin was defeated by Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan with a final score of 3-6, 6-7(4).
“Honestly, the match didn`t go as planned,” Safiullin commented.
“I had opportunities to break in both sets, but I wasn`t precise enough on my own serve at critical moments. I made errors on relatively simple shots.”
“In the tie-break, I performed reasonably well, but I felt a lack of self-belief. I didn`t approach it with enough aggression or confidence to truly put pressure on my opponent,” Safiullin explained during the press conference.
Alexander Bublik`s next opponent in the tournament will be Casper Ruud from Norway.
