Former world number one tennis player Roger Federer has congratulated Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin. On April 6th, Ovechkin set a new record for the most goals in NHL regular season championships.
In a regular season game against the New York Islanders, the forward scored his 894th career goal. He surpassed the record previously held by the legendary Wayne Gretzky.
“I am very happy for you. I hope you will hold this record forever,” Federer said in a video message.
