Joe Rogan, the well-known voice of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), recently shared what he considers the sole negative aspect of his commentating position.
While expressing deep satisfaction with his job, stating there`s “nothing better than commentating on fights in UFC,” Rogan pointed out a significant challenge tied to the schedule. When events are held on Las Vegas time, broadcasts often begin around 3:00 PM and can extend for over six hours, leaving little room for personal needs.
He detailed the awkward necessity of asking permission just to use the restroom, describing having to “run to the stalls.” To maintain energy and focus throughout the lengthy events, he consumes energy drinks, uses nicotine pouches, and drinks substantial amounts of water, which naturally increases the need for bathroom breaks during live commentary.
Rogan emphasized how this physical distraction interferes with his primary task, remarking, “There’s nothing worse than when you’re trying to understand something, and you need to go to the bathroom. You can’t think of anything but that.”
