Pop superstar Robbie Williams recently amused his audience at the Emirates Stadium by taking a playful jab at Arsenal Football Club`s long-standing lack of European success. During his international tour performance last Friday and Saturday at the Gunners` home ground, the former Take That singer couldn`t resist playfully teasing the home crowd about their local rivals, Tottenham.

Highlighting Tottenham`s recent Europa League triumph and Arsenal`s European trophy drought since the 1994 Cup Winners` Cup, Williams quipped to the stadium full of fans: “How far are Arsenal from a European trophy?” Without waiting for an answer, he promptly replied: “Four f*****g miles.”
This light-hearted dig was met with enthusiastic cheers from Tottenham supporters present, who clearly enjoyed the moment. Social media quickly reacted, with one fan commenting, “I always liked Robbie,” and another exclaiming, “No way I`ve just seen Robbie Williams bantering Arsenal on their own turf.”

However, Arsenal fans were quick to counter, pointing out the success of their women`s team, who clinched the UEFA Women`s Champions League this season. One supporter noted, “Literally won the UWCL two weeks ago, my friend…”, while another added, “I think, Robbie, you’ll find you’re actually stood in the home of a team that has two Champions League trophies…”

Williams already holds a special place with Spurs fans after they famously adapted his hit song `Angels` into a chant for their former manager, Ange Postecoglou. In 2023, Williams even shared a video of himself singing the modified tune, jokingly declaring, “Guess I`m a Spurs fan now.”
Despite the football banter, Robbie Williams is, in fact, a passionate supporter of Port Vale FC, regularly attending their matches. He was appointed Club President of Port Vale in February last year, and a bar at their home stadium, Vale Park, bears his name.
