The recipient of three Hart Memorial Trophies achieved a personal best of six assists, guiding the Edmonton Oilers to an 8-4 victory against the Detroit Red Wings.

Following the game, McDavid downplayed his impressive six-assist showing, humbly attributing his success to the `good players` on his team. Although McDavid joined an exclusive group as the 26th player in NHL history to achieve at least six assists in a single contest, merely two individuals have surpassed this feat.
