The second season for PGA Tour 2K25 has officially launched, bringing a wave of fresh updates from developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games designed to enhance the virtual golfing experience.
Headlining Season 2 is the brand-new Challenges mode. This innovative feature blends intricate golf scenarios with elements inspired by role-playing games. Players navigate a map, freely selecting their challenges to undertake and earn rewards. While rooted in authentic golf mechanics, some missions incorporate a more arcade-like feel, adding diverse gameplay opportunities.
Within these scenarios, players must meet specific conditions to succeed. Unique modifiers will either assist or complicate their task. For instance, a challenge might require players to accurately steer their shots through a series of floating rings.
Future updates to the Challenges mode will include scenarios recreating memorable moments from golf history, allowing players to attempt famous shots. HB Studios intends to regularly expand and refresh this mode in subsequent seasons. Furthermore, a new course specifically built for the Challenges mode, developed in partnership with Charles Schwab, is scheduled for release in the near future.
Season 2 also introduces the iconic Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25, alongside a variety of new unlockable items such as upgrades, enhancements, and cosmetic gear. Among the new additions is a distinct shot type called the Long Flop. This shot offers greater power compared to the standard Flop Shot while retaining its high trajectory, spin, and controlled roll, making it an excellent option for adjusting after an approach that lands just short of the target.
