UFC Bantamweight champion Julianna Pena recently spoke about her highly anticipated fight against Kayla Harrison. Their bout is set to take place on the night of May 11th at UFC 316 in Newark, USA.
According to MMA Fighting, Pena expressed her hopes for a fair contest:
“I think everyone knows that at some point Harrison was taking steroids. I hope that before our fight she stops taking them, passes clean doping tests, and makes weight. Personally, I am determined to do all this, and I want our fight to be as fair as possible, unless, of course, we take into account the fact that Kayla has to cut 23 kg to make the allowable weight for our category.”
Pena`s comments highlight concerns regarding her opponent`s history and the challenges associated with Harrison moving down in weight class for the bantamweight division.
