Former Serena Williams coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared his perspective on why Novak Djokovic stands out as the greatest tennis player of all time.
“Among the three legends – Djokovic, Nadal, Federer – Novak is indeed the best,” states Mouratoglou. “He has held the world No. 1 ranking for the longest duration and secured more Grand Slam and Masters titles than the others. His statistical dominance is clear.”
Mouratoglou finds it remarkable that Djokovic, who had a relatively modest start compared to his peers, managed to surpass the seemingly insurmountable achievements of Nadal and Federer. He emphasizes, “It wasn`t solely his game; his character played a decisive role.”
He acknowledges a potential future narrative: “Perhaps in fifty years, the discussion might shift, and some may argue Federer left a greater cultural legacy. However, the objective facts speak volumes: Novak Djokovic`s accomplishments firmly establish him as the greatest in the history of the sport.”
