Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice confirmed on Saturday that forwards Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell are expected to be available for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton on Wednesday night.
Both players sustained injuries during the decisive Game 5 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the availability of Panthers forward A.J. Greer for the opening game versus the Oilers is still questionable. He was absent from Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final and saw limited ice time (just 4:22) in Game 5 because of a lower-body injury.
None of the three forwards took part in Saturday`s practice, which was the team`s first skate session since the defending champions secured their place in the Final rematch.
Coach Maurice stated, “I believe Greer is the only uncertainty at this point. His status is day-to-day. The others are doing well and should rejoin us for an optional skate tomorrow.”
Luostarinen, who is 26 years old, accumulated 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) over 80 regular-season games and added 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists) in 17 playoff appearances this year.
The 23-year-old Lundell finished the regular season with 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) in 79 games and contributed 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in 17 playoff contests.
Greer, aged 28, registered 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) across 81 regular-season games and recorded three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 12 playoff appearances.
