UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett shared his thoughts on why Islam Makhachev might have been hesitant to accept a fight against featherweight champion Ilia Topuria.
Pimblett commented: “Were I in Islam’s situation, I would have taken the fight with Topuria, secured the victory, and then potentially faced Delia Maddalena in October in Abu Dhabi. However, I can see why Makhachev did not agree to fight Ilia – Islam has already recorded two wins against featherweights. While many people believe Topuria could beat him, that`s not my opinion.”
