24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic commented on his opponent in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2025, the Australian Alex de Minaur.
“Alex has significantly improved over the last two years. He is currently playing the best tennis of his career and is definitely close to reaching the decisive stages of Grand Slams. He has reached the quarterfinals several times. Last year, unfortunately, he had to withdraw due to injury. But this year he is back in shape, hasn`t dropped a set, and is playing well.”
“Playing against Alex de Minaur on grass is certainly not the most pleasant challenge. He is very fast and versatile, has improved his serve, and constructs points excellently. A difficult, a very difficult match awaits me. But I am looking forward to it. It`s a great test to check my level against a top player like Alex.”
