Renowned Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has indicated that his professional career is nearing its end, primarily due to numerous injuries.

I continue to play and train almost daily, though I`m not competing in tournaments. The current season is nearly over, but I am preparing for certain events. I realize that my tennis career is coming to an end, especially considering all these injuries. I simply cannot endure another surgery that would require a lengthy recovery of six to nine months.

He added that he doesn`t want “to reach a point where you start to hate your profession or what you do. Stepping onto the court and not even being able to practice without pain — that leaves a bitter taste.”

Kyrgios`s last official singles match was at the Miami Masters in March, where he was defeated by Karen Khachanov in the second round with a score of 6/7(3), 0/6. Despite his current struggles, the Australian has expressed his intention to compete in the Australian Open 2026.
