Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is celebrating his 30th birthday today. We join in wishing him good health and continued success on and off the court.
Born in Canberra, Australia, Nick`s father George was an artist, while his mother Norlaila worked as a software developer. He has an older brother, Christos, and an older sister, Halima.
Kyrgios began playing tennis at age six. As a junior, he achieved the world number one ranking and won a Grand Slam title.
He turned professional in 2013. Throughout his career on the ATP Tour, he has claimed seven singles titles and earned over $12.6 million in prize money.
His best Grand Slam singles performance was reaching the final of Wimbledon in 2022. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 13 in October 2016. Currently, his ranking stands at World No. 635.
In doubles, Kyrgios reached a high of World No. 11. He famously won the 2022 Australian Open men`s doubles title with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis. Persistent knee and wrist injuries have limited his play over the last eighteen months, during which he has competed in only nine professional matches.
Off the court, Nick enjoys listening to music, watching TV series, and following NBA basketball. He also hosts his own podcast featuring celebrity guests from various fields.
