Registration is now officially open for the 43rd annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship. Golfers from around the globe are invited to secure their places in this prestigious event, which is expected to draw 3,000 participants to Myrtle Beach, widely recognized as the “Golf Capital of the World,” for an unforgettable week of world-class golf and community spirit.
The 72-hole tournament is scheduled to run from August 31 to September 4, 2026, and will be contested across more than 50 of the Grand Strand’s premier golf courses. Featuring 12 distinct divisions and over 60 competitive flights, the championship ensures a level playing field for players of all skill levels, ages, and genders, thanks to a carefully managed and verified handicap system.
Kyle Oland, director of marketing for Golf Tourism Solutions, emphasized the event’s unique appeal: “The World Am is more than just a tournament; it’s an unparalleled golf experience where competition, community, and connection converge, bringing the global golf community together in one destination.” He added, “From the intensity of the competition to the vibrant nightly celebrations at the 19th Hole, players are encouraged to come as they are and leave as a legend.”
Participants who register by March 31 will be automatically entered into an early commitment drawing, offering over $25,000 in prizes, including premium golf gear and exclusive travel packages. The early entry fee of $649 includes four rounds of tournament play on championship courses, a participant gift bag valued at nearly $300, and nightly admission to the “World’s Largest 19th Hole” for both the participant and a guest. The deadline for this early entry period is April 15.
Serving as the social heart of the tournament, the “World’s Largest 19th Hole” is hosted at the sprawling 120,000-square-foot Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This grand gathering boasts open bars, exquisite food from top local restaurants, live entertainment, bands, and an expansive golf exposition. St. Andre, one of the internet’s most popular golf-centric creator groups, will return to host the nightly 19th Hole parties, joined by special guests such as South Carolina natives George and Wesley Bryan from The Bryan Bros.
The tournament will culminate on Friday, September 4, with flight winners advancing to compete in the Championship Round at Grande Dunes Resort Course, vying for the prestigious title of World Amateur Champion.
The field for the tournament is strictly limited to the first 3,000 golfers who register. As one of the largest and most sought-after events in amateur golf, spots are expected to fill rapidly. Prospective golfers are strongly advised to register early to secure their place in this premier championship.
