World No. 9 Lorenzo Musetti shared his experience regarding the challenging rain delay during his match against Daniil Medvedev in Rome. Their fourth-round encounter was suspended for nearly three hours due to rain. The stoppage occurred when the Italian had a match point at a score of 7/5, 5/4, 40:30.
“The rain delay at my match point – I`d never experienced anything like that in my career, and it wasn`t easy to handle,” Musetti said in an on-court interview. “During the three-hour wait, I replayed that moment [the serve] hundreds of times in my head. Resuming from such a tense situation was tough, but then I managed to relax and find my rhythm.” He added, “My serve worked perfectly; I`m very satisfied and grateful to everyone who stayed until the end.”
