British welterweight fighter Leron Murphy shared his thoughts on his recent victory over Josh Emmett and spoke about his ambitions for the future.
“I had to be careful and stick to my game plan,” Murphy explained. “Emmett is a dangerous opponent, known for his knockout power. Fighting at this level, mistakes are costly. After being knocked down in my previous fight, I made sure it wouldn`t happen again.”
When asked about his next steps, Murphy stated, “My ultimate goal is the title, but I’m ready for anyone in the top 5, even top 3. Give me any of them, and I’ll be prepared to fight in July. I’m looking to extend my winning streak and earn a title opportunity.”
Murphy secured a unanimous decision victory against Emmett in the main event of UFC on ESPN 65 in Las Vegas.
