Mourinho Ready to End Jadon Sancho’s Man Utd Struggles with Fenerbahce Move

José Mourinho is reportedly nearing a deal to bring the struggling Manchester United player, Jadon Sancho, to Turkey.

As Fenerbahce manager, Mourinho has made a £15 million offer to Manchester United to terminate the winger`s challenging period at Old Trafford.

The Istanbul club is also ready to satisfy Sancho`s salary expectations of £10 million per year.

The 25-year-old Sancho returned to United recently after Chelsea declined a permanent move following his loan spell, opting to pay a £5 million penalty clause instead of the full £25 million transfer fee.

This adds to a difficult four-year tenure at Old Trafford for Sancho, who joined for £73 million from Dortmund in 2021.

Sancho, who grew up in London and played in the Bundesliga for four seasons after being in Manchester City`s youth system, had a very public falling out with United manager Erik ten Hag.

The player claimed Ten Hag made him a “scapegoat,” leading to his loan move back to Dortmund in January 2024.

Despite starting the previous season as part of the United squad, he was sent on loan to Chelsea on deadline day last summer.

While at Chelsea, Sancho scored five goals in 41 appearances, notably a crucial one in the Conference League Final victory against Real Betis. However, this was insufficient to convince Enzo Maresca to make the transfer permanent.

With the new United manager, Ruben Amorim, indicating Sancho is not part of his plans, the winger is actively seeking a transfer.

Fenerbahce, aiming to surpass their rivals Galatasaray and win the Turkish league title, are currently the frontrunners to sign Sancho. Mourinho reportedly sees him as a potential game-changer for the team.

Sancho`s high weekly wage of £300,000 has deterred several interested clubs.

However, due to Turkey`s significantly lower tax rates, the ex-Borussia Dortmund star could potentially maintain his current take-home pay.
