Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, the world number seven, shared her thoughts following her quarterfinal defeat at the WTA 1000 clay-court tournament held in Madrid.
In the quarterfinal match, she was overcome by American Coco Gauff, currently ranked world number four, with the score settling at 5/7, 1/6.
Reflecting on the match in an interview with BB Tennis, Mirra commented: “Perhaps I should practice with her more often to understand her style and tactics better, which will allow me to adapt better. Unfortunately, we don`t train together very often.”
The WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid took place from April 22 to May 3. The defending champion from the previous year was Poland`s Iga Swiatek.
