Mikel Arteta has communicated to his new transfer chief that Arsenal must make significant investments to compete effectively across all competitions next season.
The Gunners` hopes for the title this season are on the line as they face Ipswich, just days after their impressive Champions League semi-final qualification against Real Madrid.

Arteta believes that sporting director Andrea Berta is crucial for maintaining strong challenges in both the Premier League and European competitions in the upcoming season.
He stated, “Squad quality and player availability are essential. Without these, competing in four competitions is impossible.”
“Especially in a demanding league like this, high quality and availability are necessary to increase your chances of success.”
“Ultimately, execution on the field is necessary, but a strong foundation significantly improves the probability of achieving our goals.”
“I hope Andrea brings fresh perspectives, strategic plans, and positive surprises. His experience, innovative thinking, and intuition will be invaluable in making effective decisions for the club.”
Liverpool is poised to secure the league title if they defeat Leicester and Arsenal loses to Ipswich.
Arteta reflected, “Certainly, there are aspects we could have refined to better challenge Liverpool.”

“Otherwise, we would win every match regardless of injuries, unforeseen circumstances, red cards, or refereeing decisions.”
“However, we must accept the reality. At the season`s end, we will thoroughly analyze our successes and shortcomings.”
Arteta also suggested that he is keen to offer midfielder Thomas Partey a contract extension.
Partey, 31, is nearing the end of his current contract this summer but is currently enjoying his most consistent and impactful season for the club since joining five years ago.
Arteta mentioned that contract discussions are progressing with several players, and his desire to retain Partey is evident, although the final decision rests with Berta.
The Arsenal manager commented, “Yes, we are making headway with contract talks for all players.”
“I will defer to Andrea and the club to finalize and announce these decisions.”
“The intention is very clear from my side. I will leave it to Andrea and the club to proceed with the necessary steps.”
Partey`s consistent performance this season is largely due to his improved fitness and availability, a significant improvement from previous seasons where injuries frequently disrupted his playing time.
Arsenal will weigh his age and injury history before committing to a new contract.
