Daniil Medvedev, currently ranked No. 11 in the world, shared his perspective on how falling out of the ATP Top 10 impacted him.
Medvedev stated, “Usually, it`s not a big deal, but at Monte Carlo, being seeded ninth meant I had to begin from the first round. However, sometimes playing an extra match can be beneficial. It can happen that your opponent is already warmed up while you are just starting.”
He further added, “Of course, playing well helps you earn points and improve your ranking. Stefanos [Tsitsipas] has a thousand points to defend right now, so we`ll see how that goes.”
“Maybe I`ll get back into the Top 10. I simply need to raise my level of play,” Medvedev concluded, as reported by the Masters press service.
