Marcus Rashford has reportedly become a transfer target for Inter Milan. The Italian club is looking to strengthen their squad following a disappointing season.
The 27-year-old Manchester United forward spent the latter half of the recent season on loan at Aston Villa, where his impressive form earned him a recall to the England national team.
However, Villa, who just missed out on Champions League qualification for the 2025-26 season, are reportedly not planning a permanent transfer for Rashford, primarily because of his high salary demands.
Manager Unai Emery and the club are instead focusing on other potential signings and are keen to retain striker Ollie Watkins, despite speculation about his future at Villa Park.
Sources close to Rashford indicate that he sees no future for himself at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim.
Reports suggest a falling out between Rashford and Amorim last season, with the manager reportedly dissatisfied with the player`s attitude in training and off-field behaviour.
Consequently, Rashford is actively seeking a move away, alerting clubs like Inter Milan to his availability.
The Serie A giants are in a rebuilding phase following a disappointing performance in the Champions League and losing out on the league title.
Inter suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat and also saw their Serie A title hopes dashed late in the season, allowing Napoli to win.
Club officials view Rashford as a potentially crucial signing who could energize the fanbase.
While Manchester United would prefer a permanent transfer, Inter Milan is also considering a long-term loan agreement.
According to a source, Marcus is receptive to the idea of moving abroad for a fresh start. The source added that the success of other Premier League players in Serie A makes the prospect appealing to both Rashford and Inter.
Rashford is not the only player with an uncertain future at United. Teammates Jadon Sancho and Antony also finished the season out on loan and are considered surplus to requirements.
However, offloading these players presents a challenge for United due to their significant wage packets.
