Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has suggested he is open to leaving the club, confirming that he is in discussions with other potential suitors, including Barcelona.
Although Liverpool recently rejected an approach from the Catalan giants to open negotiations for the Colombian international, Diaz`s latest comments indicate a potential shift in his future.
Despite having two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, Diaz stated: “The market is open, and we are trying to figure out what`s best for us.”
“We are in talks with other clubs. This is normal during the transfer window.”
He added: “I am very happy at Liverpool. Since my first day, they have made me feel truly welcome.”
“Currently, we are in contact with the club because we are speaking with other teams.”
Diaz continued: “I am just waiting to see what happens. If Liverpool doesn`t make a good offer [context unclear], I still have two years left, and I would be happy to remain there.”
“It`s up to them [Liverpool, or the clubs involved]. I am just waiting to see what happens. Everything depends on their decisions.”
“Naturally, the ultimate decision about my future rests with me.”

These candid remarks from Diaz followed a recent post on Liverpool`s official X (formerly Twitter) page, which showed him celebrating and kissing a trophy, captioned: “He`s from Barrancas and he plays for Liverpool.”
His statement is likely to cause concern for new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
The 28-year-old was a significant player for Liverpool last season, contributing 13 goals and five assists.
He joined the Reds from Porto in January 2022 in a transfer valued at up to £49 million.
The Colombian international has accumulated 41 goals across 148 appearances for Liverpool, contributing to wins in the FA Cup and two League Cups.
Barcelona`s sporting director, Deco, initiated contact with Liverpool earlier this week to discuss a potential transfer for Diaz, but was informed that the Anfield club has no intention of selling the player.
Dutchman Slot is keen to retain Diaz as part of his plans for the upcoming season, with reports suggesting a substantial squad investment is planned, potentially including a move for Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Barcelona reportedly views Diaz as a valuable addition to their attacking options, potentially alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal. However, he is also understood to be a primary transfer target for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Adding to speculation, his partner, Gera Ponce, posted an emotional message on Instagram that some fans interpreted as a possible farewell to Liverpool.
Her message read: “Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication, and for making us feel at home.”
“This is a real bond, deep and strong, that reaffirms we`ll never walk alone.”
