World No. 361 Lois Boisson discussed her approach to training and preparing for matches, even when facing highly-ranked opponents. The Frenchwoman is set to play Coco Gauff in the semi-finals of her home tournament.
When asked about collapsing on court after her previous match against Andreeva and seemingly maintaining perfect composure during the match, Boisson clarified if the celebration at the end was overwhelming:
“Not exactly,” she responded. “I don`t always fall to the court like that; it`s just that I was under tension throughout the entire match. I tried to maintain composure, and at some point, I needed to release it.”
Queried about how she mentally prepares for opponents she has only seen on television, she explained her strategy:
“The preparation is almost always the same – it doesn`t matter if you`re playing against the 300th player in the world or someone from the top ten. Nothing changes for me: we analyze the opponent`s game, and then on the court, I try to follow the game plan,” Boisson stated during her press conference.>
