Trent Alexander-Arnold`s late goal propelled Liverpool closer to the Premier League title as they defeated Leicester 1-0, sealing Leicester`s fate and confirming their relegation.

Alexander-Arnold, returning from injury, entered the game as a substitute and within five minutes, he struck the decisive goal. This victory means Liverpool are just one win away from securing the Premier League title.
Despite speculation about a potential move to Real Madrid when his contract ends, Alexander-Arnold seized the moment to celebrate Liverpool`s likely triumph. His powerful shot bypassed Leicester`s goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, and he celebrated by removing his shirt and celebrating with the Liverpool supporters.
There had been discussions among fans about Alexander-Arnold`s future, but the Anfield faithful at King Power Stadium were delighted as he scored the winning goal in the 76th minute.
Leicester, managed by Ruud Van Nistelrooy, showed some resilience but ultimately succumbed to their ninth consecutive home defeat without scoring, confirming their second relegation in three seasons. They have been spared the very bottom spot only by Southampton`s poor performance.
Earlier in the day, Arsenal`s victory over Ipswich meant Liverpool could not celebrate the title immediately, but the championship is likely to be confirmed soon, possibly when they host Tottenham next Sunday.

Leicester`s relegation was almost certain after Wolves defeated Manchester United. Their inability to score at home in the Premier League this year further indicated their struggles.
In the match, Luis Diaz set up Mohamed Salah early on, but his shot hit both posts and stayed out. Leicester then nearly scored themselves, with Wilfred Ndidi hitting the post. Liverpool continued to press, with Hermansen denying Salah again.
The game had a subdued atmosphere, resembling a pre-season friendly. Liverpool fans were supportive, but the team initially lacked their usual sharpness.
Hermansen made further saves, denying Cody Gakpo on multiple occasions. Salah also missed a close-range volley. A plane flew overhead with a banner protesting against the Leicester City board.

Despite Leicester`s improved performance in the second half, Liverpool maintained pressure. Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz had shots saved or blocked. Eventually, Alexander-Arnold`s goal broke the deadlock.
Leicester had a goal disallowed for a foul on Alisson, adding to their frustration as their relegation was confirmed.
