Jeremy Monga had to play his first senior game for Leicester wearing a jersey without the team`s sponsor logo.

The 15-year-old became the second youngest player ever to play in the Premier League when he substituted into Leicester`s 3-0 loss against Newcastle.

Monga, born in 2009 and 23 years younger than Jamie Vardy, replaced Bilal El Khannouss after 74 minutes in the game.

However, the young talent couldn`t wear the same kit as his teammates because of the club`s sponsor.

Therefore, the winger, wearing number 93, wore a kit without the sponsor`s brand on the front.

Monga is a highly-regarded young player who has played six times for England`s Under-16s team.

He has already attracted attention from big clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

Despite his young age, Monga`s debut at the senior level has been anticipated for a while.

Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy mentioned about Monga when he joined: “The first thing I undertook here was to observe the Under-21s and Under-18s, bringing them into first-team training to assess them.”

“When players are talented enough, age is not a barrier for me, and they can contribute to the team.”

Van Nistelrooy mentioned last week that Monga`s school commitments were making it challenging to fully integrate him, saying: “He’s progressing very well, and his talent is evident.”

“I also brought up his situation as a 15-year-old, with school, which limits the opportunities to have him consistently with the team.”

The record for the youngest Premier League player is held by Arsenal`s Ethan Nwaneri, who debuted at 15 years and 181 days old in September 2022.
