Legendary American mixed martial artist and UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently spoke about the sources of his inspiration.
“I try to draw inspiration from athletes who are not related to MMA,” Jones stated. “In the world of mixed martial arts, I feel I have reached the summit, so to speak. Therefore, I seek examples of inspiration in other aspects.”
He explained, “For example, I am inspired by people who show more humanity, behave more decently, or give more to society than I do. Or those who communicate better with their fans. For instance, Conor McGregor is incredibly good at the microphone in that regard.”
“Therefore, I am inspired by other athletes. I ask myself the question: ‘How can I get closer to them in one area or another?’ I look at figures like Tom Brady, LeBron James, Michael Phelps, and Michael Jordan as role models,” Jones revealed.
As a reminder, Jones`s last fight was in November of last year, where he defeated Stipe Miocic by knockout.
