World No. 1 Jannik Sinner shared his thoughts on whether anti-doping rules should be reviewed, drawing from his own experience.
“It`s difficult to answer,” said Sinner regarding the rules. “All players with positive tests follow the same protocols. There`s no difference in treatment. Even though there was some criticism directed at me, I wasn`t treated differently. I had to file many appeals, and I was tested, maybe even more than others. WADA then reviewed everything again. In cases of contamination, like mine, after examination, doctors determine that it doesn`t provide a physical or mental advantage.”
The Italian star was also asked to name the best player among the `Big Three` legends: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
“I was lucky enough to get to know Rafa [Nadal] and Novak [Djokovic] a little better than Roger,” Sinner responded. “I didn`t see Roger much or interact with him extensively. I can assess Rafa and Novak a bit better. I really admire Rafa; he deeply cares about the people around him and is a tremendous fighter. Numerically, Novak is the best, but we should feel fortunate to live in this era. They have achieved unbelievable results over the past 20 years.”
