The rising Czech tennis star, Jakub Mensik, has clarified the reasons behind his recent withdrawal from the Beijing tournament and shared his anticipations for the upcoming Shanghai Masters.
Mensik revealed, “Recently, I`ve been experiencing health issues across my body, particularly concerning my knee. This unfortunately led to my decision to pull out of the quarterfinals in Beijing. However, I am confident that the recovery time I`ve had will allow me to perform at my absolute best in Shanghai.”
He further elaborated on the strenuous nature of the tour, stating, “After a demanding series of tournaments in the United States, it was challenging to immediately dive into the Davis Cup and Laver Cup. My body simply struggled to cope with the back-to-back events. With such a packed season, it was perhaps predictable that I might have overexerted myself with too many matches. Despite this setback, I am fully committed to restoring my strength to ensure a strong and successful finish to the remainder of the year.”
