UFC heavyweight contender Jailton Almeida has declared his willingness to move down in weight to challenge light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Almeida issued a direct challenge to the champion, stating:
“Hey, champion! I accept your challenge. I am ready to drop to light heavyweight and fight you for the title. Alex has regularly fought on short notice, but he has become too big for this. Now he does not need it, and I agree. How about you? I promise not to take you down, we’ll settle everything standing up.”
Almeida`s most recent Octagon appearance was in January, where he secured a knockout victory over Sergey Spivak.
