Stefanos Tsitsipas` coach, Goran Ivanišević, recently shared his assessment of the Greek player`s prospects.
Ivanišević addressed the notion that Tsitsipas could rank immediately behind top players like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic if he returned to form. He clarified that currently, no one is truly close to that dominant trio. Ivanišević noted the age difference with Alcaraz and Sinner, highlighting that only Djokovic is still capable of consistently challenging and defeating them. Everyone else, he stated, falls into a separate category.
Despite this gap at the very top, Ivanišević expressed strong confidence in Tsitsipas` inherent ability. He is certain that Stefanos is a Top 10 player, pointing to his two Grand Slam finals, Masters titles, and ATP Finals victory as evidence of his quality and achievements.
However, Ivanišević emphasized that Tsitsipas` potential to reach and maintain a ranking between 5th and 10th depends entirely on his own desire and motivation. He issued a clear warning, stating that if Tsitsipas continues playing at his current level, there is no chance of him achieving that higher ranking.
