UFC fighter Islam Makhachev recently discussed the rigorous preparation he is undertaking for his highly anticipated clash against top welterweight contender Jack Della Maddalena.
“This camp is really tough,” Makhachev stated, characterizing his current training camp as exceptionally challenging. “I am gaining weight, getting bigger, and constantly changing sparring partners. Some of them are truly large in terms of size. It`s a very difficult training camp. Even the weights I`m lifting have increased, making workouts particularly demanding. Despite the intensity, I feel good.”
Addressing his physical transformation, Makhachev elaborated on the difficulty of his recent weight gain efforts. “Gaining weight was very difficult,” he admitted. “Now I`ve become a little bigger. I`ve been actively working on this for the last couple of months, incorporating creatine and protein after every workout, and consistently trying to increase my food intake.” He further explained his disciplined approach to maintaining peak physical condition: “To stay in shape, I am in constant contact with the dietitians from the UFC Performance Institute.” These remarks were made during an interview with ESPN.
