World No. 2 Iga Swiatek commented on her third-round defeat against Danielle Collins at the Rome Masters, where she lost 1-6, 5-7.

This marks Swiatek`s earliest exit from a WTA 1000 event since 2021. Furthermore, she has not secured a title win recently.

“Of course, it`s not easy. Clearly, I`m doing something wrong. I need to collect myself and make some changes.”

“My team has given me some advice, and I just need to follow it.”

Q: It`s visible that you are going through a difficult period. Who are you leaning on for emotional support?

A: “Well, on Daria [Abramowicz, her psychologist] and all the members of my team. We`ve talked and reached some conclusions, so I`m going to try and change my mindset a bit, because…”

Q: What are your expectations for Roland Garros now?

A: “Obviously, my expectations aren`t high because I`m not playing my usual tennis. As I mentioned, I`ll just try to shift my mindset a little, gather myself, and focus on working day by day.”

Q: Other players have achieved significant success at certain Grand Slams. Even when they weren`t in their best shape upon arrival, they mentioned having a special feeling.

A: “I don`t care what others experienced. There`s no point in making comparisons.”

Q: Do you have any special feeling when you arrive in Paris?

A: “It doesn`t matter what feelings I have. Every year is different, so… It doesn`t matter,” Swiatek stated in the mixed zone following her early departure from the Rome tournament.
