Harry Winks was reportedly dropped from the Leicester City team after a significant disagreement with manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Winks, 29, was not included in the squad for the Foxes` 2-0 loss against Manchester City on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that this decision followed a tense disagreement between Winks and van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy apparently asked Winks to compromise on his daily 100-mile commute to the club`s £100 million training center.
The manager wanted Winks to stay overnight at the on-site hotel in Seagrave, North Leicestershire, once a week.
However, Winks is said to have refused, citing personal reasons for his daily commute from Hertfordshire, a routine he has maintained since joining the club for £10 million last season under Enzo Maresca.
In March, Winks and his partner Lowri Algar welcomed a baby daughter.
This is the latest issue for Leicester, who are in danger of being relegated back to the Championship shortly after promotion.
Earlier this season, Winks was among Leicester players who were seen partying in Copenhagen with a sign saying “Enzo I miss u” after a defeat to Chelsea, managed by their former manager Maresca.
Leicester City has been contacted for comment.
This is a developing story.
