World number one Belarusian tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, shared her thoughts after advancing to the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, Spain. In the quarter-final match, she defeated Ukraine`s Marta Kostyuk in a hard-fought contest with a score of 7/6(4), 7/6(7).
“It was a really tough battle,” Aryna commented after the match. “The key wasn`t the tennis itself, but how you manage your emotions. I am very proud that I managed to stay in control in such a challenging situation.”
Sabalenka is set to face Ukraine`s Elina Svitolina in the next round in Madrid. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on May 3rd.
