Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso recently spoke about the prospect of becoming president of Real Madrid.
He was specifically asked whether he could imagine challenging fellow Spanish sports icon Rafael Nadal for the prestigious position.
“I`m not as focused on it as he is,” Alonso commented, acknowledging Nadal`s well-known interest in the club. “But if you love football and a particular team, you always dream of having a little bit of power to make decisions.”
Alonso elaborated on the typical fan`s perspective: “At home, we all play the roles of coaches, players, and presidents, imagining making various deals.”
However, the racing driver made it clear that such a move is not imminent. “But I don`t feel ready, and I am not ready,” he stated. “So right now, there`s no point in thinking about it.”
Alonso`s remarks were made during an interview with DAZN.
