Premier League and England footballer Kieran Trippier was reportedly targeted by friends who allegedly put a significant £9,500 bill for lap dances under his name after a night out.

The substantial cost, detailed on a receipt, included tokens purchased for private dances at a gentlemen`s club that the Newcastle defender is understood to have visited previously.

The receipt, printed early in the morning, was listed under the name `Tripps`.

The bill, specifically amounting to £9,663.45, is believed to have been accrued at Newcastle`s `For Your Eyes Only` establishment by some of Trippier’s acquaintances from the non-league team Gateshead.

The itemised receipt, which also accounted for alcoholic drinks and 38 dance tokens valued at £50 each, was reportedly printed at 4:36 am earlier this month under the pseudonym “Tripps.”

A source close to the situation stated: “Kieran has visited FYEO before but this bill was run up by some of the lads he knows at Gateshead. He wasn’t there.”

The source suggested this incident was intended as a practical joke: “This seems to be their idea of a joke on Kieran.”

There remains uncertainty regarding who ultimately settled the expensive tab, with the source adding, “Who knows who footed the bill.”

Trippier, aged 34, separated from his partner Charlotte, mother of his three children, last year.

The footballer missed Newcastle`s recent match against Arsenal due to a calf injury.

In that fixture at the Emirates Stadium, Newcastle was defeated 1-0, with Declan Rice scoring the decisive goal.

Following this result, Newcastle must now secure a win in their upcoming home game against Everton to guarantee qualification for the Champions League.
