World No. 49 Emma Raducanu recently reflected on the lessons she has taken away from the current tennis season.
`I`ve come to understand that sometimes, for me, less truly is more. I tend to work extremely hard, always giving my absolute best, and there are times when I can definitely push myself too far. What`s crucial is dedicating maximum effort for a focused period on the court, maintaining concentration, and then knowing how to properly switch off and allow for recovery.`
She added, `There`s a common saying that players need practice, which I completely agree with – it`s undeniably helpful. However, there is a proper time and place for everything. At specific moments, taking a necessary pause, recovering physically and mentally, is essential because the tennis season stretches out for a very long time.`
