Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has resumed his managerial duties following a period of illness.
The head coach was admitted to hospital earlier this month after being diagnosed with pneumonia, which caused him to miss three matches.
Howe, aged 47, was absent from the touchline for Newcastle`s games against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa.
During his absence, assistant manager Jason Tindall took temporary charge of the team.
Tindall oversaw the Magpies` recent fixtures, leading them to impressive wins against Manchester United and Crystal Palace before a defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
The club has now confirmed that Howe is back at the training ground and working with the players again.
In a statement, Newcastle United announced: “Newcastle United are delighted to confirm that Eddie Howe has returned to his duties at the club’s training Centre. Eddie had recently been hospitalised with pneumonia and has now returned to work after a period of recovery. We thank supporters for their warm wishes.”
Howe initially believed he had flu-like symptoms but was later diagnosed with pneumonia by doctors.
His condition required hospitalisation on April 12 after it worsened.
The former Bournemouth boss is expected to make his return to the dugout for Newcastle`s upcoming home match against Ipswich Town this weekend.
With his return, Howe will be focused on guiding Newcastle in their remaining fixtures as they aim to secure a strong finish to the season and potentially push for a return to the Champions League.
After the match against Ipswich, the Magpies have four games left in their Premier League campaign.
These include matches against Brighton, fellow top-five contenders Chelsea and Arsenal, before concluding the season by hosting Everton.
